ADCC 2017 World Championship Update Who's In, Who's Out




The team organizing the upcoming ADCC World Championships, scheduled for September 23-24 in Espoo, Finland, has released the latest round of invited athletes.

​IN: AJ Agazarm, Gabriel Arges, Alexandre Ribeiro, Felipe Pena, Jared Dopp
​OUT: Sulimanov Mokhmad (1st Asian Trial winner) 

​AJ Agazarm is an ADCC veteran. Will compete at -66kg.
​Gabriel Arges is a Gracie Barra black belt who will make his ADCC debut in this tournament. A IBJJF World champion in 2017 and a two-time World Pro champion (2016 and 2017). Arges will compete at -77kg.

​Xande Ribeiro is an ADCC mainstay, having debuted for the organization back in 2003. He has competed in every ADCC World Championships since then, except for the 2013 tournament in China, making him a two-time ADCC champion (2007 and 2009). Ribeiro will compete at -88kg. 

​Felipe Pena placed second in the -99kg division in 2015 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, going head-to-head with Rodolfo Vieira in a 40-minute war. He will return to the -99kg category. 

​Jared Dopp is another 2015 silver medalist, and he will return to the +99kg division. This will be the Rafael Lovato Jr. student's third time competing at the ADCC Worlds, having placed third in 2013 and second in 2015.
