His
opponent for the 10-minute bout will be none other than Yuri Simoes,
the 2015 ADCC champion and two-time double-gold No-Gi World
Champion (2014 & 2016 weight and absolute).
Simoes
made headlines in the jiu-jitsu world when he faced and defeated Dean
Lister at F2W Pro 8, where the two competitors had a heated exchange at
weigh-ins.
This will be Stevens' first Fight To Win Pro event, but as only the third U.S. judoka to ever medal at the Olympics, he is among the most acclaimed athletes to ever take to the Fight To Win stage.
Promoter Seth Daniels himself called this event "the best card we've had this year".
Also on the card will be former UFC fighter Gabriel Gonzaga, former Olympic judoka and Bellator veteran Rick Hawn, and former Brazilian national champion Rafael 'Formiga' Barbosa.
