The SC “Borets” 2018 New Year championship

 

Even the New Year celebration is held sporting in the SC “Borets”. This year, on the occasion of the New Year, members of the club decided to held domestic competition as an alternative to the traditional party.

The championship will take place at the “Borets” sports base (Kropivnitskiy city, Ukraine) on 22 and 23 December. The championship is open for all fighters of the SC “Borets” aged 3 and over. You can sign up for the championship in the coach office. All participants will receive sweet prizes. And the winners of the championship will be awarded special medals.

The participation in the championship is absolutely free with the sponsorship of the “BioTexCom” clinic.

Training camp at “Borets” sports base

The training camp will be held at the sports base “Borets” (Kropivnitskiy city, Ukraine) from 2 to 6 of January. This camp will help fighters to prepare for the upcoming European Championship in Lisbon. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters from all-over Ukraine are invited to participate. 

Absolutely all trainings will be held in GI! During the training camp, main attention will be paid to the drill training. It will help fighters to improve their timing as well as to improve general skills. Sportsmen will practice both certain techniques and free fights.

It should be noted that any participant of the training camp can be “disqualified” and not allowed to train in the case of aggressive fight. In addition, at the training camp, it will be forbidden to attack legs, due to the importance of the upcoming championship. Emphasis should be placed on grappling positions, the ability to count points and advantages, as well as the ability to estimate forces and time.

Results of the “Ukraine National Challenge 2018” championship

 

The final stage of the “National Challenge 2018” tournament has ended recently. The competition took place in Kiev and gathered about five hundred fighters from all over Ukraine.

Let us recall, the “Ukrainian National Challenge 2018” consists of 4 ranking championships and is held under the guidance of the Ukrainian Federation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (UFBJJ). This year the championship was held in four cities: Kharkov, Odessa, Lvov, and Kiev.

An official rating of the best Ukrainian Jiu-Jitsu sportsmen will be based on the results of this tournament. UFBJJ sponsors provide partial funding for the participation of the absolute category winners of the “Ukraine National Challenge 2018” in the IBJJF, UAEJJF, JJIF championships.

Ukrainians won the championship in Berlin!

The popular championship "Berlin International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2018" was held in Berlin, Germany, recently. A lot of talented athletes from different countries, including fighters from Ukraine, have taken part in this competition.

According to Ievgen Skyrda, the head coach of the SC “Borets” / ZR Team, "Berlin International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2018" has become one of the most intense and challenging competitions of the recent time for his team. Despite the fact that all the rivals had great sports skills, the Ukrainian fighters still managed to win prize medals. 

Roman Nepota had 7 fights in total, and 6 of them he finished prematurely. The athlete won gold in the purple belts category in the weight of 82 kg, and got a gold medal in absolute.

Yaroslav Blazhko also became the winner in the category of purple belts but in the weight of 70 kg. Ukrainian sportsman showed great jiu-jitsu skills in the absolute category but his opponent turned out to be more agile.

Ukrainians conquered Budapest!

The “Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Hungarian Open Budapest” championship took place in Budapest, Hungary on November, 17. This competition was held for the 14^th year in a row! Athletes from many countries, including fighters from Ukraine, showed their jiu-jitsu skills.

The Ukrainian sportsmen from the “ZR Team Ukraine” have joined their efforts and got the 3^rd team place at the championship!

Athletes Nikolai Tserkovnyi and Alexander Mazurenko won gold in the Gi category. In addition, Alexander Sokol got a silver medal in his weight and gold in absolute, and Serhii Paziurystyi received one silver medal. Both athletes also performed in the Gi. 

Moreover, Ukrainian fighter Daniil Pihul managed to win 4 medals in the championship! In the Gi category he won gold in his weight and bronze in the absolute, and in the No-Gi category sportsman got two more gold medals!

Ukrainians proved one more time they are one of the strongest rivals.

Ukrainian sportsmen in Paris!

Ukrainian fighters from “ZR Team Association” have honorably represented their country at the “Paris Fall International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship” recently. International sports event was held on November 24-25 in Paris (France).

According to the results of the championship, the blue belt Maxim Aminov won the gold medal in his weight and silver in the absolute weight in the No-Gi category.

In the Gi category, Vitalii Oziumenko won gold both in his weight and in absolute, Pavel Bushkov took gold in his weight, and Oleg Ishchuk won the bronze medal in the lightweight.
